More Ways to Make an Impact

Online giving is one way to contribute to our mission. But there are other ways that you can make an impact and help raise financial support for our programs. Click through the following carousel to learn about alternative donations.

Tribute and Memorial Gifts

A tribute or memorial gift is a wonderful way to honor a special person in your life, whether they have passed away or are living and have achieved a milestone. Plus, your donation helps us continue to provide the unique care and support to those who are most in need. Use any of the three donation methods above to make your gift and inform us of your desired dedication. Upon request, we will send a notification by mail to the honoree or their family informing them of your tribute gift without disclosing the amount.

Event Sponsorship

Corporate Matching

Many employers offer an optional payroll deduction plan that allow workers to donate to a charity of choice each pay period. Use our search tool above or check with your HR department to find out if your company offers a matching program.

Some businesses conduct annual United Way campaigns to raise money for local charities. You and your fellow employees may elect to designate your donation to Hope Hospice. If you are interested in learning more about Hope Hospice, we will gladly send a representative to your facility to make a presentation about how donations are used to help local families. To schedule, please contact our Philanthropy Department by email or call (925) 829-8770

In-Kind Goods and Services

Another important way individuals and local companies support Hope Hospice is through in-kind gifts. Through donations of products, services, and time, there are countless opportunities to make a meaningful donation. Some restrictions apply to in-kind gifts, so contact our Philanthropy Department by email or call (925) 829-8770.

Legacy Giving

Legacy giving, also known as planned giving, is a donation made by someone through a will or other estate-related designation. Legacy gifts are typically prepared with a financial planner and are meant to reflect your values and preferences. In most cases, a legacy gift is made after someone’s death, but not always. Legacy giving can also take other forms, including recurring donations that begin while the donor is alive and continue after the person is deceased. To learn more, click here.

family caregiver class

Donor support has enabled us to add more services that offer a higher level of support to our clients and the community. In 2015, we launched the Family Caregiver Education Series, a free monthly workshop on a variety of topics of interest to family care partners, such as considering caregiving options, advocating for a loved one in a complex healthcare environment, and end-of-life legal and financial issues.

An offshoot of the Family Caregiver Education Series, our Living With Dementia program provides free group classes and private consultations to families who are caring for a loved one who has dementia. Family care partners might be struggling to understand their loved one’s illness and how to provide the best care. Our dementia specialists offer insight and education and teach new methods in combating challenges such as resistance to care, sundowning, and repetitive behaviors.

We run a robust grief support program that far exceeds the basic services that Medicare requires of accredited hospices. With your support, we can offer both our client families and the local public complimentary care through multi-week support groups, single-day workshops, and check-in calls and mailings to help them navigate their grief journeys.

Donations and grants also support special services by covering the cost of supplies and resources. Examples include our volunteer training, veteran appreciation items, and our robotic pet program for dementia care.
