Our Organizations

Volunteer

Volunteers have been at the heart of Hope Hospice since our beginning. By sharing your time, talents, and compassion, you can make a meaningful difference for hospice patients and their families throughout our community.

Ways to Get Involved

There are many ways to volunteer with Hope Hospice. We’ll help you find an opportunity that fits.

Companionship and Caregiver Relief

Sometimes the most meaningful gift is simply being there. Volunteers visit patients to talk, read, play games, watch television, write letters, or enjoy other activities together. Volunteers can also stay with patients for up to two hours, giving family caregivers time for an appointment, social activity, or much-needed break.

Specialized Patient Support

Bring your interests, experience, or professional skills directly to patients. Volunteer opportunities can include music, pet visits, art activities, photography, and Veteran-to-Veteran companionship. Licensed practitioners may also volunteer services such as massage, cosmetology, acupuncture, reiki, and healing touch.

Vigil and Dementia Support

Volunteers can provide a calm, supportive presence for patients and families during important moments. Vigil volunteers offer bedside companionship during a patient’s final hours, while volunteers with Hope’s Living With Dementia program help families share personal histories, preferences, and other details that allow caregivers to better connect with their loved one.

Events and Office Support

You don’t have to work directly with patients to make a difference. Volunteers can also support Hope Hospice through office projects, special events, and other activities that help our team serve patients, families, and the broader community.
